1. Email: Send me an email explaining what you are looking for in a website... What do you need? What are your goals for your site? How many pages will you need? Any specific layouts, themes, colors you'd like?

2. Deposit: Once we have an understanding of what you want for your website, choose which package works best for you and pay a 50% deposit. A deposit must be recieved before I can begin any actual work on the site. I ask that you do not pay this until after #1 above, because it is non-refundable. The deposit pays for a site design, initial page build, and to reserve a block of time.

3. Site Design: I will take the information you have given me and design a layout for you. I will send you this design to approve or tweak, or we can start over with a different design.

4. Design Approval: You approve of the general design/layout of the site. Note that from the date of design approval, you have 30 days to pay the remainder of the quoted web site fee.

5. Send Content / Site Build:  Once you have approved of the design I will begin building your web site by adding pages and content. Note that I must have your content (photos, written material, etc.) for each page in order to build them. If this content is sent to me in a timely manner, you should have your completed web site before your final payment is due. However, if there is a delay in the receipt of content, please note that you will still be responsible for making your final payment even if the site is still in progress. If payment is not received by the due date, work on the site will stop until payment, including late fees, is made.

6. Site Check: You will thoroughly check all of the pages of the site for errors or revisions. I will make any corrections needed. Once you are satisfied I will make your site live.

7. Final Payment: The final payment is due before the site is launched. Note that if this payment is not made, late fees will be incurred and your site will be disabled until payment, including late fees, is made.

What if I need to make changes or add pages later?

  • I can add and edit pages for you at any time. Please see the rates page for details.

Can I update the site myself?

  • At this time, all websites created must be updated and maintained by me. Updates are $50 charged hourly and billed in minute incrememts. So if I spend 20 minutes on an update all you will pay for is the actual 20 minutes for the work performed. Once you have reached a full hour's worth of updates you will receive an invoice. Unless other arrangements are made prior to the updates, payment in full is due within 1 month of your invoice. I also offer an annual plans which include unlimited updates for the entire year.  Late payments will incur a surcharge of 10% of the balance or $60 (whichever is smaller) every month that payment is not received.

Can I have a phone consultation?

  • All communication must be via email. I have found over the years it is the most effective way of communication during the design process. By having all correspondence in email, it ensures that we both have a copy of every word of the conversation every step of the way. I am able to constantly refer back to what was needed and requested in your own words rather than relying on my memory or notes. On the rare occasions that I have relented and done consultations by phone or in person, I always later regretted it as I just did not have all of the information I needed at my immediate disposal. Therefore I no longer make exceptions to this rule.
